Spring 2014 One Room Challenge Week Five

Welcome to Week Five of The One Room Challenge which is a blogging collaboration Linda, from Calling it Home, created and is the single reason I have any rooms completed in my house.  If you're coming in new, you can catch up easily.  Here's Week One, Two, Three and Four.  For the last ORC, I did my daughter's bedroom which is the photo above.  That painting by Kerry Steele was the focal point of the whole room.  This round, I'm doing my daughter's "hangout room," which is connected to the bedroom by a short hallway. Obviously, these two rooms have to relate.  The photo below shows what the room looked like before the challenge began. It was bare bones and didn't flow with the bedroom at all.

Yes, bare bones.  I've just gotten the cushion back for the window seat and am happy with the fresh green on that side of the room.

The lumbar pillow for the sofa is back from the seamstress.  Two widths were sewn together.  Didn't she do a lovely job?

I shared this vintage Ficks Reed chair last week.  This chair was an afterthought, and has required some sanding and sealing.  Thank you, husband, as it was too late to hire anyone.  Below is the fabric for the cushions.  The pink will be cording.  Thank goodness my seamstress is willing to turn this around so quickly.

The shades from 3 Day Blinds have been installed, and we love them.

My daughter and I have been online shopping for a coffee table. The five below were considered, and one of them was purchased last week.  It should arrive any day.  Can you guess which one we chose?

Okay. I'm calling time now on this post even though I have more progress to share.  I'm just one of twenty participating, and there's lots more ORC to see from the ladies listed below.  Come back next week for the finale to see everything all put together (I hope -- EEK!!).
