One Room Challenge Ranch Renovation Week Four
Welcome to my Week Four of the Spring 2017 One Room Challenge™, Calling it Home's internet-wide celebration of interior design. Thank you for checking in -- so much going on! To catch up, go here.
This space, designed by Tracery Interiors and photographed by Jonny Valiant via House Beautiful, shows almost perfectly the design plan for the Metrie molding I'm dying to see on my walls. It's a bit late for it to not be up yet, right? Last week I mentioned that things were going very slowly, and I had some concerns. I'm more concerned this week, and I'll share more on this later. Hopefully, there'll be a big turnaround very soon. But, back to Metrie -- they were unbelievably helpful. I know next to nothing about moldings other than that I like them a lot, and thankfully, the people there were very patient with me.
Farrow and Ball's Almost White is what I'll use everywhere. I absolutely love this paint. I used it here, and fell hard. Some don't care for white paint, but I think it creates a crisp, clean, bright, happy atmosphere where all other colors can more strongly sing. Almost White is a lovely, soft white that works with everything.
Isn't this wallcovering by Stroheim fantastic? It's going in the entry. I rarely see a weave like this, and I'm excited to see it on the walls.
Here's the floor plan of my formals area showing the furniture placement. There'll be a little more, but this shows the general plan.
In the dining room, this clean, modern table from Bellacor ( delightful to work with ) is more than six feet in diameter, and will be such a great foil to my classic shield back chairs. I love seeing traditional mixed with modern, and I also love seeing stained wood paired with white.
This is a small detail shot of the painting that will hang over the sideboard in the dining room. I received it yesterday, and was jumping-up-and-down-happy. It's AMAZING. Oh my goodness, I can't wait to share it in all its glory. Can you guess the artist? Some of you will recognize the style immediately. For those of you who don't, I'll share it next week.
Here's the inspiration for my china cabinet. This ultra-talented husband-wife duo will be making their magic, and it's going to be gorgeous.
In the sitting room, I'll have this pair of floor lamps from Lamps Plus, on either side of the sofa table. It's a small room, and they'll fit perfectly on the wall providing extra lighting for the space quite attractively.
I adore embroidered fabrics, and am so glad they're making such a comeback. Every fabric house has lots of embroidery in their new collections, and these are among the always exquisite fabrics of Brunschwig & Fils. More on this next week.
